My backround
With more than 10 years in the language industry, I have been working as a freelance translator from English and German into Spanish since 2013. As I got trained for years by a large Language Service Provider, I am familiar with all specifics of the professional translation regarding use of language and accuracy, commons tasks, research in corpora of parallel texts and terminology databases and dedicated software.
Given my academic background in Engineering and Translation, I have worked for clients from mostly scientific and technical fields, as you may see on my full translator profile at cifuentescortegaza.com. However, I am passionate about investing and financial markets, and this is why in 2015 I got the EFA™ certification. As an EFPA member in Spain (associate number 25408), I provide financial advice to individuals as well as specialised translation and content creation services to financial, Fintech and law firms. Also, I am part of the Spanish Association of Translators, Copy-editors, and Interpreters (associate number 1988)
European Financial Advisor (EFA™)
This credential certifies one’s professional suitability to provide financial
advising, management, and consulting to individuals on personal or private
banking, financial services aimed at individual customers, and any
professional banking, insurance, or independent functions that entail
offering integrated asset and financial consulting.
The European Financial Advisor meets the requirements of MiFID II, which
requires all professionals who provide financial advice in any country within
the European Union to have a minimum qualification proving their
knowledge as financial advisers. This regulation is set forth by the second
Directive 2014/65/EU and came into effect on 3 January 2018 (more information here and here). Also, EFA certification provides access to the
European Certificate and entails the holder’s incorporation as a full member
of EFPA Spain and EFPA Europe. All the information on the certification and

Why choosing a translator with investment expertise?
In order to render a good translation and create content, I believe that it is not enough to be proficient in more than one language, to read a lot of parallel texts and to be a good writer, but it is also a must to be a field expert with work experience to fully understand a source text and translate it properly into other language, as quality matters. I am passionate about investing and I made my first investment years ago at Civeta Investment, where I met and got acquainted with great entrepreneurs and was caught up in their taste for tech entrepreneurship and the financial markets. Since then, I have developed my investment profile in parallel with my professional career with a double purpose: on the one hand, to learn how to plan my personal finance, while at the same time I can help other people to meet their goals, and on the other hand, to apply all what I have learned as a translator in the field where I keep always learning and find motivation.
